So a No vote still and wait until they upgrade everyone to a free TiVo box in the future ... at least by then it may be a finished product and not a beta/unfinished product it is now.

Certainly wont pay extra without extra content ... just cant see any reasoning or logic in that when i can already do everything the TiVo does but with a little of my own elbow grease and an internet connection.

No point in super duper apps and WOW features if you dont have the content to back it up

TIVO is a good product , but agree fully on content will always win out.

I agree with Cozzy to an extent. As I said previously I am happy with my V+ box.

I am very pleased that VM have taken onboard peoples feelings and now so many more will reap the benefit they are wanting.

Re: Will you now take Tivo on the new info ?

I am a Tivo S1 owner even though it has been turned off for nearly 3 years since I moved to a house with cable installed and got a V+.
Still couldn't bring myself to sell it or bin etc just in case I ditched Virgin at any point.

The apps like Youtube/ebay or whatever I am not fussed about at all.
The Wishlists are amazing.
I think I watched 1 suggestion in the 6 years I used it. That is probably more down to me actually recording lots anyway and never actually emptied the box. I can't see why you would watch a suggestion when you have other stuff you know you do want to watch already there.
The season passes at the time were great but everything has them now. Just a shame that it seems they do not work properly right now.

So I am going to now buy Tivo based on the new info because I loved Tivo and it's little plopping and also I am almost on a weekly basis struggling with space issues. The 500Gb would probably be enough but 1Tb with hopefully the promise of more HD channels to arrive should have it covered.

Going to move my V+ box to the bedroom to replace the original non HD box. What would be nice of course would be if the VIP's second box could be the baby Tivo. If Virgin wants everyone to be using Tivo I see that being a logical step to make.

Yeah, VM have zero content! That could explain why I sit looking at a blank screen on my TV; V+ and TV working fine, just no content on VM :)

It will for some people, it won't for others.

I prefer Tivo functionality and a few less channels to the Sky box functionality and more channels.

Well from taking major steps in wrong direction VM is now starting understand it really is about price.

The last couple of things I've read about VM-Tivo eg the 500gb cheaper box(if true) and now this new pricing news really make it something I will put back on the table for consideration.

Although for me content is still king the VM-Tivo is really looking like a great product at a reasonable price. I'm tied to Sky untill January so maybe in that time a few new channels a sensibly priced Tivo and great package deals will make VMtv powered by Tivo to attractive to refuse? Ya never know......................

Was going to wait for "Baby TiVo", but not now!

BTW, re content - I'm very happy with VM content, wouldn't ask for anything more. Basis for another poll?

My thoughts exactly and I've stated it here , I would never rule out becoming a VMTV customer again , but their channel range will have to improve vastly , TIVO alone is not enough for me.

Yes I'll go for it. They have proved they are listening to us and I'm more than willing to meet them halfway. If it goes ahead this way then they win and we win.
What it means for me is I was considering changing the TV to Sky so it means I stay on VIP 50.

Sorry for being lazy, but a quick google didn't find a result.

Can someone point me at a channel list comparison between Sky and VM preferably with price points, and one that's sortable/filterable on channel type? (i.e. ignore game/DIY/cookery/sport channels)

I know that content is king and also can I just say that although VM has less channels than SKY I have to say that I prefer VM, As when I was with Sky I did not like the amount of shopping/talk shows and also all the other pointless channels that they have?

BUT CAN WE GET BACK ON TOPIC PLEASE AS IT IS NOT A CHANNEL COMPARISON VOTE.

Re: Will you now take Tivo on the new info ?

YES I now want it, even with the limitation of the lack of red button service. It was too expensive before but with the removal of the install fee and the £3 a month charge by being on VIP50 I want me email NOW :)

Re: Will you now take Tivo on the new info ?

ok, so the real question is how much is VIP 50 supposed to be ???

and yes considering it now, but want to see all the offers and the magical email first.

£100.55 per month as the price rise has come in to effect this month.
