I wonder why Nopanic is more interested in commenting on your supposed waffling rather than in the post?

I would've thought he'd have been straight down my neck!

Then again it may be because what I've been told is true???????????????/

I seem to have got some attention following my comments on the privacy issue.

It will not work as the Superhub will be registered and active on your account instead of the VMNG300.

Yes it will work! Cos I am using VMNG300 modem and superhub both still working! The specialist tech put two registered mac address on my account.

No you are just in your own fantasy world and you know that is not true and nor is it possible.

masque you are trying to say its not possible for a registered mac to be updated on account. Because that is the only technical requirement for the vmng300 to work. Its a account configuration issue nothing else.

You cannot just swap one modem for the other as the person Pip spoke to says they can as it needs to be registered on the account, so strange that they are sending an engineer out to replace the VMNG300 with a Superhub as it makes no sense.

Except it's for 100Mbit which is Tech install only and is only sold via the SuperHub ;)

Re: Vmng300

well doh.

updating the mac is registering on the account.

I think you just been stubborn now which seems to be on par with VM's attitude on this.

I am going to go back to the whole VM process thing, process designed to make things diffilcult to make work for customers, a process that is desgined to not allow easy swapping of modems on accounts etc.

Whats so hard about registering a vnmg300, I am curious. Is it the computer system you have specifically blocks it (out of design choice obviously) or that staff have been told by manager's to not do it.

Comments such as.

"not possible"
"tech install only"

are not technical limitations, they are design limitations.

But who is going to re add the VMNG300 modem back onto the account for him as any phonecall will go to the 100Mb ring fenced team and I doubt they will swap it over for him as they are 2nd line technicians, no 1st line agent will accept the call.

That is what I was getting at earlier when I said it wouldn't work

Do please read the above as I know who the 100Mb team actually are.

Re: Vmng300

read what above? I have read all your posts which none give the answer.

lots of posts saying it wont work, cant be done, all vague comments with no detail as to why. As all it is is registering a new MAC address.

VM is a funny company that apparently lots of things arent possible until.... you decide to cancel and suddenly they are possible as if by magic, strange that.

I know which is why I am surprised at the person he spoke to telling him to keep the VMNG300 as no one will re add it to his account unless they want to get into trouble by not following process.

no it isnt, all it says is the team wont do it.

No technical explanation in that.

Why wont they do it? I know the answer but its taking a lot to get it out of you.

Because the 100Mbit product is provisioned using SuperHub kit only

That is what Virgin have decided they want to do, so that is what all staff have to follow
