The campaign was about honest advertising of speeds and largely a waste of time and a pure PR effort by VM as most suppliers follow Ofcom's code of conduct and give an estimated speed at time of order.

Advertising 20Mb ADSL then advising at the point of sale are two different things though, A customer would have already made up their mind by the time they are told what speed they should expect. And the vast majority of customers dont care/dont understand what it all means anyway.

Just as well they advertise 'Up to' and note restrictions due to line length and other factors within the advertisements as a general rule.

See attachment 1 for caveats on speed, number 2 for information. Seems quite clear.

Bit like advertising unlimited downloads, download as much as you like, then noting in the small print that Traffic Management, Application Management and Detrimental User Policy applies really.

In any event it's all getting tidied up.

Good to see you've your finger on the consumer pulse and know what people consider when buying a service, you're wasted in New Build.
