Well I heard it 2nd hand so is possible the person who told me was exaggerating and that link is the truth.

I was given pause for thought to think that a local council would actually spend that sort of sum on a place of worship.It's not their place to do so.

Upkeep of churches,mosques,synagogues are the responsibility of the communities they serve.In fact if a council did I think the local electorate could challenge such a move in a court of law.
