Re: French to bankroll music-buying
For those curious as to how they can afford to do this, they aren't paying most of it. We, along with other European tax payers are.

If people are going to download / stream material for free, which ordinarily they ought to pay for, then - much like the current shortfall in other areas of GDP - someone has to pay. Lets face facts, illegal downloaders are the same as benefit cheats in that whilst they are not entitled to do so they take things "because they can". |

Re: French to bankroll music-buying
The taxpayer always seems to bankroll a dying industry, while the Bosses skim off the cream, before it eventually gets sold off for peanuts to an Indian or Chinese Company.
Maybe the writing is on the wall for the Recording Industry? |

"The Bosses"???? - when in doubt, be emotive; Class Warfare 101......

What about those world leading recording companies that have been predominately chinese since their inception Mick, do they not count? Which particular recording companies do you anticipate being sold off to either Indian or Chinese interests and on what (besides excusal xenophobia) do you base your predictions on? Quote:
Well, lets see that in action, let's see them sharing the burden of shouldering the losses - or is it perhaps the case that's a kind of "sharing" that's beyond the selfish utopian nonsense they spout? |

Universal? No, hold on, they're French. Warner? No, hold on, they're American. EMI? Yes, they're British!! Hold on, though, they're owned by Venture Capitalists Terra Firma Capital Partners. Who does that leave to sell to the Chinese or the Indians? b) Don't you understand? Only by giving it away free, would the business model make sense - that way, they could use the cream they had skimmed off to pay for new artistes, so they could give more away free - your outmoded view and business model is what causes the problem. |
