Re: Home network

I'd double check the physical connections. 99 times out of a hundred if IPconfig is reporting that media is disconnected it is because either one end of the isn't pushed firmly home or their is a faulty cable. You may have dislodged something when you were rebooting at the router.

Re: Home network

I have changed all cables.
Laptop working wirelessly, but now the desktop is missing from the network. Last night all was OK.
I shut down both computers overnight.
Prior to my problems, I had been leaving them in either SLEEP or HIBERNATION mode.
Not sure if that had anything to do with it.

Update on this.
Since my last post the situation is the same. After a long time the wireless laptop eventually picks up the desktop on the network. So I did a system restore. Checked ipconfig and stats are the same as previous. At least I can access the desktop, so I'll accept that for now.
I have looked at other forums about media dfisconnected, and this does seem to be a widespread problem.
This is one that I looked at. http://www.anetforums.com/posts.aspx?ThreadIndex=28415

The Netgear router has software V1.0.11_1.0.1VGUK.
Is the latest version?
