all I was wandering was Win7 preinstalled or have you upgraded. Wandered if a registry setting had not been changed successfully if an upgrade

Tis bizarre that you have to go through proxy. I assume all your modem signal levels are correct, although I would have though that would've affected proxy too. 192.168.100.1 user = root password = root

Speedguide suggests an rwin change I notice.. I may have a go.

FWIW, everything is super-fast again now using OpenDNS and no proxy. :confused:

With inconsistent page loads like this it's hard to pin it down to one thing I guess.
Thanks for all the help though. I think I'd get bored if it was all plain sailing.

I personally use Google's DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Interesting. They (Google's) failed to provide decent results for me in the past but are working ridiculously well now. Thanks again.
