And here lies the main problem with anything English being hijacked by the Nazis :td:

No wonder many are too afraid to celebrate our national day :afire:

I was listening to Jeremy Vine on the radio. I think some people are too afraid
to celebrate our national day through fear of offending others.

haven't seen many flags though.

I can't see how any one or nationality in the country can be offended by our national emblem. I went to Scotland and was quite envious of the way they are proud to fly their flag. And I expect that's the same in any country.... Apart from England that is.

If anyone oppose the England flag then they should be sent packing imo.

I think it's more to do with you're bringing the flag out on an occasion. and is probably seen as you're making a statement.
I think if we were to fly the flag all year through, then it wouldn't be seen as being so 'offensive' because they** would be used to seeing it.

They is all people of all races and religion. not one particular group FW.

Leeds Civic Hall were flying the Union Jack and the flag of St George yesterday, when I passed by, and again today.

Why would a soft bread roll offend the ladies and the obese people?

I was only saying the other day how pleased i was to see all those Scottish Satires back in the sky now that the planes were up there criss crossing each others paths again. I`ve lived in London for over 10 years now so i`m always happy to see the Scottish Flag.....or even something that resembles the Scottish Flag.:)

As Scottish as i might be though i still root for England, or indeed any other home nation, when they play football, rugby & cricket etc...unless they were playing us lot of course, which is a rarity now-a-days anyway.
I actually love the English but it`s not as if i have a choice, two of my children were born down here.:D

I wonder if the BNP's heads will explode when they find out St George, their proud symbol of all that is ethnically indigenous North European, was born in Palestine from a Turkish father and a Palestinian mother?:D

If you attempt to tie British with British National Party then people will be offended. Not only because they are an affront to our country, but also because a lot of people are not considered British by them simply because of the colour of their skin.

No that's not it at all. Imo not celebrating is a very English thing to do, we just aren't interested in having a special day all of our very own, we'll leave that to the little nations with inferiority complexes.
