Most scousers couldn't drive a car even if they wanted one. They'd need to get it down off the bricks on on to some new wheels.

Which, I am told, is nowhere near as bad as most of Turkey.. I can't drive, but I've been to Turkey and it does seem as though the traffic rules are optional. Especially those regarding lanes.

Turkey is actually bad enough that one of my friends (who has many years experience driving in London, and is usually a fast driver) says he is terrified of driving in Turkey.

btw, the North does consist of more than one city, contrary to what some people think :p:

I've had the pleasure of driving in Turkey and will do so again later on in the year, apart from the lack of road (mainly dust tracks between villages) and lack of road sense, its not so bad. I've driven in both Icmeler and Gumbet/Bodrum, the latter being the most exciting :D This time I'll be driving from Bodrum Airport to Akbuk which is near to Altinkum.

Was just responding in kind...I've heard cracks about londoners driving like mini cab drivers as well :)

I know. Moldova's profile says Liverpool though, hence me picking it.

We stayed in Bursa. I have to admit, I also stayed in Istanbul for a few days, and, as a pedestrian, it was confusing dealing with the roads..Pedestrian crossings certainly seemed like a case of "you can stop if you want"..

Bodrum is good though.. Been there before..

I'd love to go to Istanbul, the OH went to the Cup final back in 2005 and said it was the most beautiful city. I'm working on him to take me there :)

And Stuart thats exactly the train journey I have tomorrow morning - Liverpool sheep, sheep, furniture, car park, traffic, farm, Manchester and return :D

Well as you obviously have no sense of direction the mini cab description seems quite apt.:D;)

It should be Liverpool, sheep, Wigan, sheep, Preston, sheep, Lancaster, sheep, Carlisle, Scotland if going North. :D;)
