This has really knocked me back a bit i honestly cannot believe anyone could even think of doing this but to then do it and win just absolutely begger's belief. How much more accomadating did they have to be she was offered a UK base posting no doubt with a gaurantee of no oversea's deployment and turned it down for gods sake this court needs a damn good hiding. This could open the floodgates to the waste of space brigade in the UK to join up get knocked up and quit for some parental reason it really is insanity.

I am completely behind fair treatment for all people regardless of race, culture or religious persuasion but there has to be a limit beyond which the individual is accountable and responseable for their actions. In this day and age there is absolutely no reason for an unplanned pregnancy and if it was planned then sorry i cannot see how the army can be held accountable for the reckless action of this individual.

As for the whole race card issue i am totally sick and tired of people of low value bringing it up in their defence when it suits them and making it so much harder for those who have legitimate rights to use it when it is used in this context it weakens the argument for everyone. This is a childish spoilt little madam that should never have been accomadated by anyone or anything much less the courts shame on them.

Most women don't do the full 22 years, very far from it in fact

only six per cent of female soldiers serve their full 22 years.

Probably, I wonder how her comrades feel about doing her guard duty etc so she can look after her baby, I think the army does its best to accomodate peoples needs and has been harshly dealt with here, just goes to show how biased employment tribunals are, you only have to turn up to win on even the most trivial of cases.

BBC breaking news - she got £17,016.

Well, there we go, very far from what the Daily Heil was predicting.

The army didn't do things as well as they should have and had to pay a little because of it; case closed.

It didn't predict anything it mentioned what she was trying to claim.

Still a reasonable-ish result.

It didn't. However, it did draw comparisons with what several injured soldiers had actually been offered as compensation. As such, it was written very misleadingly. It makes this comparison while failing to point out that a claim is not a payout. Indeed, it infers the total opposite by comparing the claims to payouts.

Another example why I don't consider the Mail to be any more than an insidious and offensive hate filled rag.

this is a riduculous state of affairs ,people join the army knowing that at some stage in their career they may be expected to go to war ,they are soldiers before anything else, everything else comes second .This sad excuse for a woman should not have got a penny
