Happily been using Avast and SuperAntiSpyware for a couple of years. Currently using Avast 5 on XP Pro and Vista Business with none of the dramas reported on the forums.

Gave up on SpyBot after a false positive and subsequent attempted removal wrecked my OS!!!!

no matter what is suggested, somone will report they had problems with it and hate it, someone will report they use it and havent had any at all.

I was running AVG for years ( paid version ). Lost my hard drive this year due to a virus. Grissoft support hopeless. Now running Avast, much better program. Avg used to be good, but check out the top ten antivirus programs and AVG is way down the list.
