Just a Western Digital 32mb cache 1tb green drive. Take it by your reaction I have an erroneous score?

Well I have a 32 meg 500 gig Samsung F3 which is meant to be one of the fastest sata II drives on the mkt and I score 5.9

Re: SSDs

lol, well I have just rerun the test after my last post and got the same scores. Maybe a driver related issue? It's an AMD 880 chipset.

I know it doesn't prove anything because If I was sad enough I could have photo-shopped it but here's a screen shot.

which end mine or yours? have a look at the first few pages.

I think the only time other than in your case I have seen or heard of anyone getting anywhere near 7 let alone 7.5 on a standard hdd is with SSD. Incidentally do you have write caching enabled?

I asked OCZ about that. They said the new Sandforce chipset doesn't suffer from the problems that needed that workaround, so I installed Win 7 straight to the SSD, it has a three year warranty so I'm not worried. So far Win 7 appears to be loading twice as fast and programs are launching noticeably quicker (Photoshop takes eight seconds).

My end naturally. The only explanation I can think of for such a high score. Have googled a bit myself and have seen some evidence of people getting as high as 6.6 without ssd drives but they are high end units and certainly not green drives like mine lol.
