Personally I am very careful when it comes to locking doors and windows.
I wonder what would happen if Johnny Plod crept in through an open window into a house in darkness, and whilst collecting valuables in his swag bag to teach the owners a lesson received a bash over the head from the home owner. |

I definitely don't think it's okay, but then again, how stupid are these people, leaving their properties unsecured, in this day and age? :shrug:
