64QAM, bucket loads of FEC / interleave.

Might be some multiplexes at 256, depends on laser load and how badly the extra 13M is needed.

Actually I only commented as you invited it, I've skipped over other things :)

EDIT: On the STB the key thing on downstream is the Bit Error Rate, pre- and post-FEC.
