Hearing the stories is terrible. That BBC article I posted was just awful. People still stuck under buildings dying when surrounded by people because there isn't enough help.

Surviving population of millions in a small area yet very few news reports show any of them doing much to help themselves or those trapped... or are the reports wrong?

They lack a lot of the resources needed. Such as the machinery to lift heavy rubble. A lot of people simply are not in the right state of mind nor health to help and others are too worried about missing or dead family members.
