i think she was given words of advice by the bill, BUT, it just goes to show you, how stupid the laws are in this country.

mmmmmmmm - Mylene, chastise me......:)

Anyhoo, back to reality - sounds like her agent has made some stuff up to get some free publicity

Does anyone actually believe this was said

the police explained to her that even if you're at home alone and you have an intruder, you are not allowed to protect yourself

A spokeswoman for Hertfordshire police said no reference was made in the Klass incident report about a weapon. She said the incident was being treated as trespass and "words of advice were given in relation to ensuring suspicious behaviour is reported immediately".

yup

"Her questions going forward are: what are my rights, and what are you actually allowed to do to defend yourself in your own house?"

I'm all for granting homeowners to defend themselves but that stops quite a way short of running after people and executing them over a small amount of property. If the garden counts, does that mean the driveway is fair game then?

On my garden gate I've got a sign saying Enter at your own risk, if they want to enter without my permission they are going to suffer some serious pain.

Any exceptions to that? Because it sounds like an uninvited door-to-door salesman is going to get assaulted by knocking on your door.

In your house you can kill them if you think your life or others is at risk ( and basically they would have to prove you didn't think that as in court it is not that you were at risk but that you believed you were even if that belief was wrong )

but if you stop them from running away to attack them then you over step the mark

and going outside to threaten people seems to be putting yourself and your family at more risk than locking the doors and phoning the police

Re: Myleene Klass warned by police

I think that she should have gone out and stabbed the two little f@@@ers , as one said earlier i would get planning permission but not for a moat but a minefield to stop them !

Where i used to live i got someone stood in the back garden shouting obsenities at my 8 month pregnant partner and i chased them down the row of gardens and then got questioned about threats to kill , as they said that i was going to kill them ( if i had got hold of him i would have ) !

But on a funny note i would not have been at the kitchen window , i would have been with a ladder at the bedroom window to see M KLASS:D

Myleene was in her own her own home and just showed the knife to the thug via the door, and she gets a warning, l said the laws are stupid, as she should be allowed toprotect her own property, what she should have done was thrown th bloody thing.

Re: Myleene Klass warned by police

Arthur, she didn't 'get a warning'. She was offered some advice on what would be a sensible way to behave and what might land her in trouble. Just a concerned local copper doing a nice bit of community crime prevention work if you ask me, and not deserving of the slating he's getting in here and in the Press.
