Pabs - bit of a difference in budget. The official 360 Wireless is ~£50+ and Powerline would be maybe £80+, vs the £25 access point.

We could play on the old COD's fine it just MW2 that wont find hardly any games so i think the accest point is gonna be the best thing to buy plus alot cheaper than buying the Xbox wirless thing. i think thats about £50

I hear ya Aragorn, but for me (a fellow gamer), I would spare no expense at getting the best possible connection for games like MW2 etc.

Also you could buy a very long ethernet lead, for about 15 quid, I got a 30 metre one recently from a local computer shop, and just get your partner to dig a little trench in the garden and sink it a couple of inches deep.

A fair bit of work I know but still a possibility.

I just hate wireless connections for gaming.

I got to be honest, but unless he can forward the ports correctly I don't see how spending money on a wifi bridge would make any difference.

Lists the ports that are required, which to be honest seems like a rather strange list of requirements. All of the below are asked to be port fowarded, implying they are inbound connections. This is utter rubbish IMO.

TCP 80 < My xbox as a webserver, no chance.
UDP 88 < Kerberos - fair enough, signing into Live.
UDP 3074
TCP 3074
UDP 53 < My xbox as a DNS server, no chance
TCP 53 < My xbox as a DNS server, no chance

I can understand the xbox needing to have port 80 and 53 outbound for lookups and webcontent, and 3074 in but no chance am I turning my xbox into a web and dns server for the world.

I've got full loggin on my config, I'll hook it up and do the xbox test and let you know what ports it really uses / needs.

After enabling full logging I am unable to suggest which ports are required to allow xbox full access. I'm currently unable to get off strict myself, not that yet it has given me issues.

I've checked over evrything on my Homehub settings and the correct ports are already open under the Xbox Live Preset thing thats already on it. But what im gonna do is my boyfriend says hes gonna bring his belkin router as it can work as an access point also and try that with it when he comes round next, if so, will just buy one of them or equiv.

As peeps have been saying and as i can see now, Its obviously the ICS cause the issue so take that out and should be ok.

Strict gives major annoyance here, it will sometimes search for around 20 mins for one game, and once your in one, if you want to leave for any reason, you just get put straight back into the same game. (this is for COD MW2 tho, other online games are ok.)
