If any one is uncertain how to re-tune their TV/box/recorder here's a site to get either your full manual of just the retuning section as a PDF

Re: Freeview viewers reminded to retune

Ok, I have an Explorer 4200DVB and my recorder is a panasonic, and I record thru the A1 which picks up whatever my STB is tuned to.

Will I need to re-tune my recorder? or retune anything on the STB that I mentioned earlier?

I am kind of concerned about the recorder to be honest.

On a separate issue I am lead to believe that the analogue switch off in my area is 2012

Re: Freeview viewers reminded to retune

As I am still on the official site I thought I would get more information in case the site falls over completely.

This is in case you find that your TV/box/recorder fails to re-tune tomorrow. :(

STB could mean any box that sits near a TV and receives signals.. What's the make/model number? If it's a standard VM STB that connects to the VM cable then yes it is DVB-C

It's an Explorer 4200 DVB connected to VM cable.

The OP was asking whether his cable box would be affected, which is a fair question. He can't be the only one unsure about this.

And as mentioned about, Virgin do supply Freeview boxes too.

having answered his question should not it then be moved ? . Just trying to understand the thinking. I have been moved - its fine- but could not see that I was any more off the mark than this is. :)
