cant find the article i read on this ( was a while back might remember later lol ) but if you look here you can see the resolutions allowed on blu ray disc http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu-ray_Disc look for "Technical specifications" that shows how low a resolution can be put on a blu ray disc and due to 720 being clased as HD ( how that was allowed is beyond me ) it can still be sold as high def got agree the "Close Encounters" version was great and you got a choice on which version you wanted to watch "Blade Runner" was great too :) |

Reason I wondered about old films is I wanna be picky about stuff I already have on DVD - Bladerunner as a good example - and no way I am getting them again if they don't look that much different. However, I wanna cut back on getting new stuff on standard DVD that I know will benefit from BR.
