someone find her as she's going about her daily life and chuck an unknown substance into her face and see how she likes it.

Look at John Prescotts opinions on this one, on his blog.

I dont think these form of attacks, however funny should be thought of as good.
I did laugh at all the comments above though, I am not a complete spoil sport!

If custard, eggs, whatever are thrown, it does not really cause harm, just upset.
However if say, dog poo was thrown, or something equally vile, I bet the people doing the throwing would then be prosectucted.

As serious as this matter could have ended up, is it really only me who finds the sight of a high-level politico getting covered in something thrown by a protester to be extremely satisfying?

I've no time at all for Mandy (loathe is close) but as funnily slapstick as the incident was you've go to wonder if the silly b*tch is a bit deranged herself.

She said on Sky news

"I don't want to get up early in the morning and throw custard at Peter Mandelson but I don't have a choice because democracy has failed us"

That has got to go down as one of the stupidest statement I've ever read. I often feel that our system of Government and the democratic process is seriously flawed but I don't see that as being my only choice every morning.

I find the message the person is trying to get across is somewhat lost when they themselves are a tad... :disturbd::disturbd::disturbd:

i aggree 100%i couldn't believe that there wasn't a police prescence any terrorists out there will be watching that and thinking how easy is it to get close to high level politicians
on a lighter note i watched it on sky news when they had a split screen with mandy on one side conducting the interview and the custard shot on the other being repeated over and over again couldn't help thinking that if he looked over his right shoulder he would get it in the face again

Because sometimes you get the feeling that, despite their fine words, certain politicians have forgotten that real people have deep feelings on certain issues and don't like it when they appear to be getting ignored.

Eggs/tomatoes/custard can occasionally serve to break through the little glass cubicles these people live in and help them remember that their words and actions have real consequences.

It's a nice thought but I suspect a tad naive. Politicians are so media managed and pre-programmed that eggs, toms, custard and even a boot up the ar$e would are a slight inconvenience and viewed as a media opportunity to feed us again with the bull***** stance that the protester was getting so worked up about in the first place.

but throwing an unidentifiable substance in someone's face? that is an act of violence. agressive not assertive behaviour.

I find it extremely unsatisfying that a girl of her age can act in such a dispicable way to another human.
