Its funny how everyone seems to be up in arms over the Scottish bit, not the one-eyed or idiot bit.

Anyway, its all true. He is blind in one eye, he is Scottish and he's an idiot.

In fairness, the MP who raised the concerns was Scottish. He may just have been offended because he is loyal to the PM or because he is a proud Scotsman and offended at the whole country being linked to Gordon Brown.. :D

Ah but he does have two-eyes so really he should have said he's a blind in one eye, Scottish idiot.

Just as well he didn't compare him to a cyclops or else Top Gear would be looking for a new host, although its the BBC and JC is a bit of a bigger name than Carole Thatcher so he'd have got away with it.

Personally I think the eye insult is bit below the belt, but then again Clarkson isn't particularly known for his tact and diplomacy.

yes indeed.

the only bit I dont like is the one eyed bit but I think it's fair comment to refer to him as a scottish idiot as he's from scotland and an idiot but I dont think he should be mocked for having 1 eye just as Blunkett isn't mocked for being blind.

yeah but thankfully an election by next year at the latest.

The one-eyed bit was in reference to the fact that GB can't see properly that there are big problems, whereas the Aussie PM could see that there are big problems and admitted it.

It's not what is said or done, but who says or does it. So Ken Livingstone can say to camera that he wishes the Saudi Royal Family to be dead and nothing happens.

not one person has sprung up to defend G.B. which is good cos it hopefully means we'll be rid of him at the next election.

The Scots can't have it both ways... if they are proud to go on-and-on about Scottish things they are proud of, they shouldn't moan when someone highlights things they are probably not proud of.

And JC is only stating the facts: Brown IS Scottish, IS one-eyed and IS an idiot.

This is extremely one sided. I've been racking my brains to think of an opposing argument........ give me a couple of more hours. :dozey:

<pedant on>
He is not one-eyed, he has two eyes; he is blind in one eye. Saying he is one-eyed is like (imho) saying a paraplegic has no legs.
<pedant off>

Having said that, he is an asshat.

If there is anything innapropriate about Clarkson's statement, it would be drawing attention to the disability. Its that which is probably the only ground that the politically correct civil rights mob might have some sort of tenous ground to whinge.

The point though is not necessarily what is said, it's how it's said and in what context. Judging by the article linked in the original post, Clarkson got it spot on.

Feeling the GB love are we all :D. I can't stand the bloke neither i or anyone else elected the buffoon and the sooner we can get shot the better i wish he would hold an election tomorrow. Also if the choice was between GB and JC i would vote for the latter just to get rid of the former.
