XP Installs Fine but Vista wont

Ok I have asked this question before but the thread got lost so if a Mod wants to merge please feel welcome but I really need some help

So here I go

I brought a Samsung spinpoint SATA II HD and I can get XP to install great but Vista wont I have tryed loads of different Vista disc's and nothing, I have checked that my PC can handle Vista and it can easily.

What happens I can get to the part where the files expand when doing a fresh install and then nothing, if I install it over XP it freezes right at the end.

Any ideas would be great

Any OS install bombing out is normally one of two things...

One the disk is corrupt,scratched,dodgy
or
There's a problem with a device driver (I had this one when my GFX card wasn;t seated properly in it's AGP slot)

Check the log as it should point out to what's the problem...

I dont see why that would cause a problem considering I can install XP

Burn the DVD on the slowest possible setting and try again. I have problems for some reason reading DVD's that are burnt faster than 2.4x

Don't know what hardware you've got but try stripping it to minimum. One stick ram, optical drive and harddisk plus graphics card.
Try an install with the absolute minimum of hardware first then add any extras later.

not sure if this has been said but it could be a heat problem if it gets so far then crashes but also it then wouldn't install xp fine would it oh i'm, an idiot as suggested above take everything out that is not needed for windows to install and also what is the whole spec of the machine.
