I have issues with "that's the way of the world" approach, because if we took that approach to everything, we would still have
Feudalism
Slavery
Kids in mills and going up t'chimneys
No universal suffrage
Duelling (not banjos)
Torture as standard in western societies
Mr_love_monkey not having access to Rohypnol
etc, etc

But this is, as always, imho.........
