We could probably amend that slightly - don't leave boxes of biscuits in view full stop, unless you want to contend with a child in full tantrum mode when you tell them that their tea's almost ready so they can't have a biscuit ;)

4 . dont leave factor 30 suncream lying around in reach of 2 and a half year olds unless you want a good laugh at their expense. My little one grabbed a bottle, rubbed it all over her face, looked in the mirror, noticed she was looking like casper the ghost and started screaming. the look of shock on her face was priceless, lol. (But honestly i did feel bad after)

5. Don't go and check on your sleeping boy, leaving your twin brother, his daughter, and a tub of Sudacrem in the same room, as your brother will nod off, thus giving his daughter ample time and opportunity to cover herself in cream, eat some, and ruin your carpet...

well its basically in the thread title...now i know on a whole, not all parents are bad ones (i mean children dont come with a handbook)

but even if you felt you were a good parent, but were tired of those children who's parents dont actually have a clue or care, and if parenting classes were compulsary it'd mean that they would have to attend them... would you agree to attend?

i would, so your thoughts please :)

no i wouldnt, reason being i came through life pretty okay and i put this down to my parents instilling in to me 3 good qualities, 1 respect for my parents,2 respect for others,3 respect for myself.

Don't leave a two year old alone with a bottle of baby talc...and baby oil.I was only gone two minutes but it took me ages to clean up the mess.:dunce:

I used to teach parent craft lessons in a girls school. It was ok 'cos I had the numpties who were destined to be young mothers at an early age.One of my tutor group had three teenage mums by the time they were 15 so they were putting the education into practice before they forgot..

Parenting cannot be taught, what works for one will not work for the others.

I have to disagree.Anything can be taught PROVIDED the person being taught WANTS to learn or has an INCENTIVE to learn. There is no subject that cannot be taught.

i bet ya not ;):D

well I've been told I am on more than one occasion, and I don't feel one hundred percent capable of giving him the care needed anymore. So yes I think that makes me a bad parent.

I don't feel classes would help though.

I'm sorry dilli but that is completely below the belt...talk about kicking someone when they are down... Alright you have a problem and yes maybe you cannot care for him in the same way anymore but it does not make you a bad parent.

Juggling starving rabid wolves who have really bad headaches? ;)

Blindfolded self-operated vasectomies?

Teaching Mr_love_monkey not to be lascivious?

(sorry)

Not a subject and I'm sure that they don't want to learn parenting.

It's possible but I wouldn't have thought there was much call for the procedure

Well if he had an incentive like a cattle prod but then he would take that as a challenge I'm afraid.;)

For Mr_love_monkey?

Sounds good - dip him in boiling water for ten minutes, he won't feel like procreating for quite a while.

You did mean that sort of sterilisation, didn't you? ;)
