I have been a loyal BB customer to NTL/VM for several years enjoying good service but paying a premium rate for it. I live in an area where I could easily have got 6-7 Mb on ADSL for less than I paid to VM for 2Mb, but I wished to stay with VM and that was the offer they gave me! My point in the thread you have linked was that many do not know that they are getting poor speeds until they start to use their BB connection for some serious downloading. I am one of the lucky ones who has never had any speed issues! |

Virgin deals DON'T run out after a year, unless you are told they do.
the 2 for £20, 3 for £30, VIP package etc are for life. As are any Customer Relations bundles |

Then when said customer calls in, says they have seen a better price, they reduce the price maximising profts. Some people think that companies are there to provide a service. The're not, they provide a service to make money. |

Every now and then people, just like you and me, need to know that what they do isn't the unmitigated disaster that some forum contributors would suggest. If anyone isn't happy with their deal or their service, the constructive thing to do is to let VM know: my experience is that they listen. Given the chance. |

I don't think I'll be bothering to hassle VM so's I can save the price of a bigmac each month. ;) |

Re: 4 meg - how much????
Chaps
Just been on the phone to retentions now my first year has passed, I was paying £17 a month for 4mb broadband only. This deal was offered was (broadband only): £10 for 2mb, 4mb at £17 or 20mb broadband for £29. He said that come april/may speeds on all packages will increase e.g. 2mb will become 4mb , 4mb will become 10mb and 20mb will become 50mb. |
Re: 4 meg - how much????
4Mb becoming 10Mb. That is going to happen this year.
As of yet there are no plans to upgrade 2Mb customers to 4Mb And I would find it very unlikely that the 20Mb will be upgraded. The 50Mb is more likely to be launched above it instead. Even if the upgrades do all take place, the 4Mb one is going to take as long at the 10Mb - 20Mb took last year. So you are looking at July/August before that is completed Oh and those prices will probably last a maximum of six months |
