It looks like a positive post about Sky - but this is a Cable site and such things are usually set upon and torn apart, therefore i assumed there was some hidden that i was missing.

Perhaps it was just exactly what it said on the tin... :p:

I've just read it again, and again, and again - and I for one can't see it.

Oh look..! yet another "goodbye Virgin hello SKY" scenario. I'm beginning to wonder, just how many times we have to suffer this same whinge over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. :erm:

To quote a slight variation of a famous Paul McCartney song.

:o::o::o: "We'll all yawn together" :o::o::o:

Si thee ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! :sleep::sleep:

wow
well SKY offer free install which I guess you had.
Thats £90.00 of equip and install charges. £125.00 BT install charge.
Thats £215.00 cost to SKY. BUT ??
If we then take the costs of adding sky equip to your local exchange and the cost to activate your BBI MAX then I guess SKY may start to make money from your account sometime in the distant future.
So I guess you had the deal of the century ????
Need I say more ??????????????????/

sky look at the bigger picture an average install costs them £250 hence minimum contracts, so imo yes you need to say more, what is your point???

Re: Adios Virgin. Roll on SKY!!!!

I just posted this in the wrong forum so posting here.

Colin-bennet this is music to my ears!

I am SKY HD already. My boss did the same (NTL>sky with no BT line) but his wife did the move and was not clear if they paid for BT line install.

This is the "other ISP" forum so no flamming pls. Just browsing this forum has been painfully slow tonight.

"HI,

due to the problems with high pings I am looking at moving.

The problem:

Been with NTL 6+ years for BB and phone. The BT line (do not even know the old number) was cut at outside wall when I moved in as I did extensive restructuring to the front room.

Ofcourse for ADSL (say plusnet pro) I need a Plain Old Telephone line.
I could rewire the lines myself i guess. But still don't have a connected numbered line.

Solution?

will call plusnet net week.

PS Do not fancy BT due to Usage policies and homehub router being terrible (I support VPN users at work, everyone has scrapped their homehubs)."

Thanks
G
