Hi, how long did it take for the router to arrive from ordering + what router is it?
I'm having sky hd installed on the 8th, currently waiting for BT to reconnect the phone line and then will order the sky max bb.
Thanks in advance.

I ordered it on Friday 26th - last week. Activation date is the 7th November. It's a Netgear router - wireless and wired connectivity. Looks good quality. Came with cables and 3 microfilters.

:hyper:

It's connected and working :D I've connected it through my existing telephone extension. It's free 2Mbps and here's the results of the CF speed test:

Code:

Fri, 9 Nov 2007 03:34:59 UTC

Test 1: 1024K took 4765 ms = 214.9 KB/sec, approx 1771 Kbps, 1.73 Mbps
Test 2: 1024K took 4750 ms = 215.6 KB/sec, approx 1777 Kbps, 1.74 Mbps
Test 3: 1024K took 4766 ms = 214.9 KB/sec, approx 1771 Kbps, 1.73 Mbps
Test 4: 2048K took 9516 ms = 215.2 KB/sec, approx 1773 Kbps, 1.73 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 1773 Kbps, 1.73 Mbps

Not bad huh :D

Is your cabling more van 25 years old, if your cabling is more van 25 years old you could have a fire. :shocking:

He means the electrical cabling in the house, should I want to use it for Ethernet. It is old and probably a fire risk, but it's not my house, so I've nothing to worry about. Plenty of smoke alarms. House contents insured.

Well your landlord is required by law to replace the wiring in the house.

Wrong you have the chance one day you come home, and your home is on fire.

That is good.
