I just got this one....
http://www.amazon.co.uk/iZone-FM101-.../dp/B000RVQEPC

Was looking a cheapo 1gb mp3 players and most of the ones on amazon were £15+ so I decided to spend the extra £5 and get a ZEN stone 1gb

Ok so it lacks a display but i figured its a zen so even if the Fm transmitter turns out to be a piece of junk the mp3 player should be reasonable.

Let us know how you get on with that transmitter - might look at one for the wife's Zafira.

Have you tried a less bumpy road? :p:

Speaking of bumps, there's one on Bournemouth Road, very local to me and it always causes my CD Player to skip, no matter how fast I go over it or what kind of CD I'm playing! It's damned annoying!

I tend to use Verbatim CD media that I buy in a bulk pack of 100 and store in a CD-Wallet in my car, if you burn these max speed then they do tend to skip a bit and the player laser can't find the tracks generally if you're trying to start it off while moving along.

More new cars should have usb connectors so we don't have to faff about with those round, silver things. Audi take note! flaming cheapskates.

It would be nice, they are starting to put things like that in slowly....
What's a usb connector cost them? next to nothing that's what and then they could use it as a selling point for the car.

its not just a usb connector though is it its the necessary electronics for it to do something. I take it you mean modulators not just a usb that will do nowt lol. Wouldnt the simpler idea be for car stereos to have a memory card slot and usb slot instead of the car itself ? ;)

Some of them do now but I'm not sure that Audi and BMW for eg. have realised this yet :)

but a usb slot is useless unless its connected to some electronics to use it

Re: burning audio cds

but whats it going to do? it has to have a function. Your saying fit it to a car at no point have you said what its going to do. Does it have a modulator to send to fm or what does it hold your donor card details? your address? a memo pad what.
Unless of course you didnt mean fit it to a car and you meant fit it to car stereos of course

Simple really have a usb or SD reader slot with the software in the stereo programmed to play back Mp3 files found on the inserted device.

Only thing that might need some more complex software is ipods.

There are Headunits out there that can do this easily.

ok so what you really meant to say was fit a car stereo with a usb slot not the car then. now if you had actually said that I would have understood but you didnt you clearly said fit it in the car as did UP ;)
