Although it wasn't a factor at the time of the format war, I believe Betamax tapes later proved difficult to get stereo sound onto, so it could be argued in the end that the better format really did win, if you take better to be a measure of all the factors, such as recording length, picture quality and sound quality.

So any consumers with any sense won't be rushing out to buy the hardware just yet and we are at the start of the conflict not the end..Let me know when something REALLY significant happens...:zzz:

The thing that got me on this was the fact that Microsoft paid Paramount around 150 million dollars to release on HD only. Anything to **** on Sony!
