Stay away why? Which bugs are there? Can you make a list? Do you actually HAVE V+? False advertising (according to your sig)? How? What are they advertising falsely? The non-answers to these questions is the sole reason why your post was rubbish. I've been seeing your posts about VM since you got here and it seems you don't have a good word to say about it... :td: |
Re: v+ dont think ill bother
wot sort of person am i. wot does that mean are you making this personal or ???? and read the forums on all the V+ Boxes. and VM says nothing about the cap when Advertising........ so thats Advertising to me

Re: v+ dont think ill bother
I've had a V+ box since February. It's largely faultless and it worked from the off.
The only minor niggle is that sometimes it is slow when changing channels. But not hugely, and not all the time. I think it's excellent. Having had cable TV now in various forms since 1995, I'm ashamed to say I suddenly feel I don't know how I'd manage without it....which is a bit ridiculous. But no, I think they're great. Get one straight away! |

There have been a few times where I've had to reboot (no biggie), and other times where On Demand hasn't worked - persistantly selecting the option bringing it up finally, on the whole I'm happy with it. The picture looks great on my 32" Philips LCD TV, the upscaling makes the SD channels look great and the ONE HD channel is fantastic (when it's not airing a trailer). Before I got my HDTV I also found it cool that you can watch the HD channels in SD. The slow channel changes take a bit of getting used to, but again, it's no biggie. Overall, I'd say go for it. The software will be upgraded over time, why miss out on the PVR aspect for a couple of minor glitches that currently exist? One last thing - yes, there are lots of problems that folks have had brought up on these forums, but like anything - good news is never reported! |

Re: v+ dont think ill bother
V+ gets the :tu: from me, I think it is fab and wouldn't be without it. The upscaling is great and I do not watch any other tv source now. The channel changing is slow but easily overcome by using the tv guide and browsing the channels instead of channel hopping - so much so that I do not use the channel +/- buttons.

Re: v+ dont think ill bother
Get the V+ HD box if you want:
-The ability to record 2 channels while watching a 3rd -The ability to watch HD broadcasting and VOD (yes, yes not many channels but they are coming by years end rumor has it) -The ability to record your favourite shows automatically with "series link" The only issues seem to be the slow channel changing, it takes 1 - 4 seconds to change a channel but most people use the EPG anyway unless you like my family who tend to "flip" though the channels. This will be fixed in an upcoming update. There are more issues if you plan to use the box after midnight but these too are going to be sorted. It does have some great features, for instance I recorded a movie (White Chicks on FIVE) a few weeks back and watched it a few hours later after watching a program on MTV and I can now watch it as many times as I want. It is a top notch bit of kit for the price and if you plan to keep your Virgin TV service then I say go for it! |
