Have we been visited by aliens i dont know probably have i know if i was an advanced civilisation living peacefully in the galaxy and i found a little planet full of war mongering destructive little gits i would keep a close eye on them.

As for some of the technology leaps we seem to periodically make is it human ingenuity or someone deciding the time is right for a credible release of reverse engineered alien technology i don't know that either but it wouldn't surprise me.

Fact is until such time as an alien lands is seen by the masses we will never know but i fully understand why governments would keep stum about it.

Lets be honest we have idiots burning effigies when there is some criticism you wanna guess how they would react to finding out that all religion is a load of bull that would be a fun day.

Now there's a helluva conspiracy theory - Guy was an alien, trying to take over the English Parliament, and time-travellers went back to stop him, thus saving history (and all future sales of fireworks). :D
