Shockingly bad speeds for a few days now in the Teesside area. Tried different speed tests and get varying results. Tried downloading from Microsoft and get 200 - 215KB/sec. Thats computer connected straight to modem ( NTL:250 ) by ethernet. Have not rang them yet like.
Plugged back in to router, now getting 100KB/sec. I used to get 10MB or there abouts anyway. |

Out of interest, can you ever achieve anything that would even remotely resemble the 10mbit/s (I assume this is what you're on?) in London?

Are people in Cosham having really bad connection speeds today also. I'm on the 10Mb package and I'm hardly getting 1.5 Mb download at the moment. Thanks. Phil. |

1st 512K took 469 ms = 1091.7 KB/sec, approx 8996 Kbps, 8.79 Mbps 2nd 512K took 516 ms = 992.2 KB/sec, approx 8176 Kbps, 7.98 Mbps 3rd 512K took 719 ms = 712.1 KB/sec, approx 5868 Kbps, 5.73 Mbps 4th 512K took 593 ms = 863.4 KB/sec, approx 7114 Kbps, 6.95 Mbps Overall Average Speed = approx 7539 Kbps, 7.36 Mbps got a little bit better on Teesside but nothing to get excited about, certainly not 20mbit yet :( |

Ive been on 10 meg for about a week now and never had anywhere near 10 meg speeds... average is about 5000 download speed and 500 upload speed on www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk.
when Im downloading stuff I just get similar download speeds as when I was on 2meg. |

Been like this since Wednesday night, Teesside also. Someone else from Teesside posted in another thread that his speeds were fine but apparently Teesside is split between those that get fed from Stockton and those fed from Middlesbrough.

I've been experimenting with different proxy servers and the difference between them in terms of speed can be incredible - anything from 1 meg to 8 meg down.

Just quoting what the engineer gave me as a reply when I questioned if Teesside was always problematic then why other people I know from Stockton and Middlesbrough don't experience the same consistent problems.

All i see on here is moaning fanny's,the speed test's are as reliable as my favorite fictional character jesus,10MB all the time night and day for me,not one hoot of a problem.....i love you richard branson.
