Why hate it ?? it takes space but this can be limited to a small amount or cleaned up simply enough with a couple of clicks its hardly a bad thing and as paul says it can put right mistakes

depends on your experience with it lol lots of my late night calls from friends have been because system restore either just refused to restore anything or had just stopped everything working persuading them to keep it on after fixing can be fun

thats a 2 year old quote lol . Mine actually gets turned off on vista just to clean them up then I turn it back on again. Vistas system restore is loads better than XPs

The only problem I ever see with System Restore is after a viral infection... clean the virus away and it's still lurking within the restore point files...

yeah but its easy to clear it just turn it off clean up and turn it on again.

I only use SR as an interim solution and use full ghost images as my main get out of crap method. If my system gets problematic because ive been playing with software or whatever its back to good 15 mins later. If its a slight problem SR may get used but I tend to rely on Ghost
