I thought Beckham was one of the few England players who did perform.

Look at Lampard. 0 goals, 0 assists, 24 shots (the most shots by any player at the WC.)

lampard is out for andorra with a broken wrist... Linkage

TERRY SO PROUD TO LEAD ENGLAND

John Terry has insisted "I would play for England for nothing" after slamming criticism that the players have no pride in representing their country.

So if England hammer andorra Lampard will be the scapegoat, if they don't they will have to look for another excuse.

Don't get me wrong Gazzae - none of the team exactly excelled themselves for sure so I'm not singling out DB. The question was about Beckham, however and as captain he went AWOL when the chips were down in the World Cup and apart from a few flashes of his former brilliance I didn't see much to write home about.

I disagree.

First game the only goal was an OG caused by a Beckham Free kick.

Second game Beckham was man of the match. I'd say the chips were down when your still drawing 0-0 with Trinidad and Tobago after 80 minutes. Up stepped Beckham with an assist

Third game he was pretty quiet

Fourth game He scored the only goal of the game.

Fifth game he was injuried after an hour.

If he can't get into his club side he shouldn't be picked for the national team and how is it going to change when he starts playing in a less talented league

How many league games has he played this season?

Yes league games - at the top it says - Liga Española 1ª División 2006-07.

I didn't say he was a regular this season. But playing in over half their league games proves he can get in the team.

Very good, Shearer was a regular last season, perhaps there is a case for his return as well

Its also worth considering Real are a team in decline as well

Yawn

You said can't. I proved he can. Get over it.

I'd be amazed if they scored that many, lately they seem to have no clue that the nets at each end of the pitch are for.

I havent voted as i dont see what Beckham has got to do with McClarens days being numbered. Didnt Beckham retire from international football?

What did you prove, that he can play just over half of the games for a struggling team, that hardly makes him a regular, I suggest you get over your Beckham fixation, even the halfwit England manager won't pick him, nuff said really

How can anyone say Real Madrid are a team in decline when they're 3rd in their league
