In Peterborough, the cable provider was Peterborough CableVision. They were then bought by Bell Cablemedia, then Cable & Wireless, then Ntl.

My Gran lives in St. Ives, Cambs. When cable first came in there it was Cambridge Cable. We joined Cable & Wireless / Nynex for Phones more or less when it first became available here

We started in the Middlesex area with ' The Cable corporation' we were the first people in our street to have cable, we were promised the earth, by the saleman, we had Sky analogue then, we were told we would get 300 channels and similar in channels, but when it got installed, we only got 30 channels and the radio channels were basically you plugged in a cable into your OWN radio and it got transferred through to the tv, we kepted it a week, and they kepted taking channels off, and replacing them with something else - NOTHING has changed.
