Possibly, or possibly not. I think the "tough luck" post was because only NTL can replace the box, they will not without good reason, and even if they do, you will get what the engineer happens to have in his van. NTL don't offer choices of colour. Very few companies do with Electrical equipment. Look at TVs. You currently have two choices (one choice from most manufacturers): Black or Silver. What if you want (say) Red?

And yes are there are more important things outside, but im not outside i'm in my house... and that things NOT staying. They either change it, i cancel it and they take it back, or the spray cans coming out.
I would recommend you don't spray paint it. Apart from the fact that if something goes wrong with the box at any time, NTL will charge you for *any* replacement as you have altered the box, you may also block the vents. Not only would this make the box more likely to fail, it would also make the box a potential fire hazard. If it catches fire, then the colour of the box is the least of your worries.

If the colour is that offensive, I would recommend you either go to Sky (although last time I checked, the Sky + box was white and the Sky HD box was black), or put the STB in a well-ventillated cupboard and use some sort of remote extender to relay the remote control signals to it.

TBH I was hoping to get a black box, as I've always preferred black as a colour for my A/V kit. Chiefly, my Yammy amp is black.

However, I received a silver box. But it has a black stripe across the middle and looks surprisingly smart. In the end, my stack is a mixture of black and silver and it looks like it will continue to be so for a while :D

Also to the OP good luck if you call up, technically you have no reason to get out of your contract. They have supplied the equipment your requested. It's even a bloody upgrade on the silver one and your still moaning. I would not have refunded, chaged a thing for you.

I was joking about spraying it :D

I do have a technical reason to get out of the contract... i have a grace period where i can cancel it, i was told so when i ordered it, so your wrong. I wouldnt know about the previous one as I havent had the TV before.

Stuart C - I never asked for red didnt you read what i wrote? im not asking them to manufacture something that doesnt exsist. The only reason i want a silver one is because ive seen one on the leaflet they sent me, and i assumed i would of got a silver one. Evidently they do make them, and so I should of been given a choice or at least told about it. Its like dangling a carrot in front of a donkey... you can look, but you cant have it.

And if everyone likes black then thats there opinion.. I personally bought silver, and chose all my products on that basis.

I cant get through on the phone now... will have to try later on.

You get supplied with what ever the tech has in his van, and as the silver one was the TV Drive they may have used them all up and only have the new Virgin branded V+ Boxes now.

Re: Eugh its black

My new TV is black with a tiny silver surround. Sky HD is black with a small amount of silver. Perhaps your kit is out of date now ;)

At least you have your health hey?!

You said you 'bought' a silver one. Did you ring up and say 'Hi, I am ringing to subscribe to the rental of the SILVER TVDrive advertised on your leaflet' ... or was it more 'Can I have a V+ box please' ?
