---------- Post added at 01:30 ---------- Previous post was at 01:22 ---------- does any one know if you can get a Ariel that works with a lap top |
Re: new lap top
A good indoor aerial will work. One like the Telecam TCE2000 - Argos 534/2000 (£10) - I have this running indoors for my PC and my freeview.
This is blatantly signal strength issues, and your Media Test Failure just means it's trying to boot from LAN. Pointless... |

Re: new lap top
Try your main house aerial that you know pics up freeview well.
Then buy a high boosted indoor aerial. the cheap ones will give you no decent picture quality whatsoever. I bought one of these tuners for my sis who went off to uni but found signal problems even with a high boosted aerial a problem. also slow software and occassional stuttering / stopping. Sent it back in the end. |
Re: new lap top
;) hooray tv on lap top.
any one recommend a good indoor aerial. Running on a £ 9.99 one at the moment but it work fine .;) Thanks all |
Re: new lap top
That telecam will be fine, it's probably the best indoor you can get. You might want a booster though. Just don't get one with one of those daft gain controls because they don't work and read the damn dB ratings carefully.
Remember a booster can't improve on a crap signal only a weak signal, if your signal is noisy the booster will amplify the noise, as well as the signal, and will introduce its own noise. Also remember decibels are exponential so a 1 dB rise is a tenfold difference. |
