Are there any kind of equipment that interfere with the speed such as microwaves or things with electrical motors in them...vacuums etc...?

Salu: Are you sure of the speed rating of your units?

Also, just to cover the bases: Are you getting transfer speeds of 2 Megabit (2Mb) or or 2MegayByte (2MB) which is ~ 16 Megabit?

Perhaps one of your units is faulty?

Looking at that article, they are talking about the connection speed. Not the throughput, which is a lot lower due to the protocol overheads.

Looking at that article, they are talking about the connection speed. Not the throughput, which is a lot lower due to the protocol overheads.

The packaging does say 85Mb on it. The vista dialogue just said Mb/sec if my memory serves me correctly...

Why don't you simply copy a large file over and measure how long it takes? I would say if you get around 20Mb/s, or 2.5MB/s it's about right.
