I think the problem lies in your wording, from the description it makes it sound like it is a tyre that is just a couple of weeks old. Hope you get it sorted :tu:

True - I see that now. I would'nt have thought that the age would have mattered a great deal - apart from the info posted above. Granted I wouln't use it if it was 10 years old.

If you are arguing the case I think it might be worth trying to make the point that the tyre is was certified to be safe following the repair and is fit for purpose. Therefor generally speaking he got what he paid for, a used, functional tyre.

But what happens if the buyer asks for proof from the seller that it's been certified to be safe? and the seller doesn't have proof?
