Re: NTL 10mb

You may need to use the nortons uninstall tool to totally remove all the remains and you may need to reset some bits.

Re: NTL 10mb

I would guess that Norton has tweaked or changed something. There is a way to reset your ethernet settings
open a command prompt
(Start menu
Run
type: cmd
press enter )
and type the following into the black box that opens
netsh int reset all
press enter

Re: NTL 10mb

Well it's getting there, you may want to leave it tonight and check your speeds at 2 or 3 different times tomorrow to see if it's a problem with traffic on the NTL network or not.

Re: NTL 10mb

Keep an eye on your thread, others may have more info or help for you. Check your speeds in the morning if possible, then again in early evening and then late(ish) tomorrow night. That way you get an overview of your speed.

Re: NTL 10mb

I'd also try that speedtest in IE rather than Firefox or Opera as it probably will be better.

Re: NTL 10mb

Best speed test is a biiiiig download from a trusted server (MS etc) as it gives you a better average :)

And are you happy with it? ;) The netsh command resets your protocols in use for the connection.
