Yeah, that's a good point... the price does kinda dictate which vendor organisations go for.

Ours = small company so our gear is a mixture of linksys, 3com and some dodgy german make.

All works spiffing though with knowledge purley gained from 3 years working in broadband tech support and a read through the cisco ccna book. Aslo read n+ for dummies. Not interested in qualifications, would rather have real world experience.

Problem is when the managers just look for qualifications or "Must have MCSE/CCNA" to get an interview.
You might have 4 years experience, up against somebody who has 4 years experience and qualies coming out their ears. Always looks better to employeers to have little bits of paper with "Passed" on it
