It happened again this morning..This time my son, who did do a computing A-level, went in and discovered that it was a corrupt boot up section.He wrote another replacement one and got it working...


Well that may not be the technical terms but that's the gist of it from him.:)

Maybe I'll keep him anyway...:D

Hmmm. He rewrote the MBR or the boot.ini ?? Wouldn't have thought that myself but hey - eyes on the ground are always better :)

Us sons have our uses. Mine is handbag carrying ;) :D

Ah now you are asking that which I cannot confirm..he never tells me on the principle that I always get confused about these things so why waste his breath.:D

I bet you are a great handbag carrier...a natural.;)

A corrupt MBR could have been the result of the restarts though and a FIXMBR command would show up as being unusual and rewrite itself
