I think the GFX card needs replacing 1st ... :)

I use 512mb DDR and it does me fine, going by your spec I would recomend upgrading the machine in this order.....
G-Card, something like a radeon 9600XT (minimum)
Newer CPU
Faster or more RAM (assuming you dont have top spec ram allready)

There are other things that may well also be worth upgrading but that you didnt list (Hard drive, motherboard, sound etc).

Isnt that a pci e card not seen that agp prob wrong though. Are you going for the rebuild option? If so you can buy mobos with the ATI200 chipset(but this will involve a new cpu) that had integrated X300 gfx you can see if its enough that way if it isnt theres a Pci E 16x slot also

Also its the bottom end of the market but saying that it all depends on what you want to play.If your gonna have a bash at MoH or CoD with us it will do a reasonable enough job, however if you want to go into something like battlefield 2 or doom 3 etc you will need something like a 9800pro £80 minumum, a 6600gt £120 or X800xl £220 theres plenty in between

Forget the X800XL @ £220! :Yikes:
I paid about £260 inc VAT for an X850XT PE which is a lot faster, the fastest card ATI currently do in fact.

I would recommend upgrading your pc and playing perhaps Counterstrike:Source, or just playing the most popular game there is CS1.6

Yeah, I've been playing Counter Strike (1.6 not CS:Source) for the first time in ages... it's not as pretty as recent stuff, but I had a whale of a time. Plus there were still loads of people new to Counter Strike playing on a UK2 server... so you wouldn't be getting walked over by seasoned pro's, which can get very frustrating till you're up to speed and can start kicking their a$$es ;)

I can play Battlefield 2 on a Athlon 2600 XP (throughbread) fittred out with a 9600 Pro - which Is like Uber cheap. I can run this at 1024x768 with everything on Med...Agreed the better card you buy (which = more money) is the best bet in the long run though..
