It really is a great feeling once you complete your first build.
Its nerve racking when you first press the power button but once you've passed that stage you can begin to feel good and think about how much you learnt in it all.

Great stuff. :tu:

Just goes to show how if you give it a go, you CAN build your own system. Once you've figured a few bits out, its rather simple.
And even if you get problems, theres always people here ready to help out.

it is really good when you get all the bits to work together.....

my most recent svcd was brilliant, for example, it involved a little bit of overburn, which seems to have worked :)

Brave bloke :nworthy:

I keep toying with the idea myself, when I get the cash together, which hopefully will be soon before this old wreck packs in :erm: There are few standards though and a huge choice of parts - all a bit of gamble whether it'll work or not. Just don't fancy wasting money like that - would much rather go for a pre-built to my specs system.

This part will work with that part but only with this other part but your system will be faster if you just use this other part instead, but that... :spin:

I had that problem but with help from peeps here it was fairly straightforward really...the only tricky thing was connecting the leads (power on, etc.....) to the mobo and installing the raid drivers (which you probably won't need to do) . Putting my PC together was easy and installing windows was a step by step procedure. If you have done things like replace CPU's/power supplies etc already, you should be fine with building a system from scratch........
