I have a 17inch monitor doing 1204 by 768 at 200hz all i did was remove the checkbox for higher refesh.

that doesn't necessarily mean it will be at 200Hz...does the monitor confirm this? it would require a horizontal refresh of over 150kHz, which is bloody high to say the least! ;)

i'd need a pic of the monitor overlay saying 200Hz to be convinced, rather than a screenshot :D

i may be wrong, in which case i bow down to the superiority of manufacture of your monitor! :nworthy:

How would I get one of those I just I admint going off what my display properties in windows says to me?

Re: Is my monitor about to die?

mmm. good question! i guess you'd have to use a camera, as it's overlaid by the monitor itself... i'm not that bothered really, if the monitor says 200Hz then thats what it's doing

that'd be 75Hz refresh then (the V number), despite what windows tells you!

each image is drawn one horizontal line at a time, so the horizontal refresh (H) is vertical refresh (75) x number of rows drawn (a bit more than 768)

Nicely done, I kinda fancy a Dell tft heard rave reviews about some of theres guess I dont stand much chance with a £200 top end budget? 17inch and above be wicked 1600 by 1200 anti glare even better.

I have a 17inch Dell TFT that I bought from there it was about £280 when I got it but that was nearly 2 years ago now. its a great monitor not as fancy as the Iilama ones though.

I use that site a lot its where I bought all the parts for my PC.

Re: Is my monitor about to die?

Thinking about it, I have not come across a computer monitor that does not auto degauss on startup for many years.
Certainly never one 17"+ & I have seen & repaired a great many different models.

Your wobble may well also be a dry joint or loose connection inside.
WHatever it is, it is most likely repairable & should not become another monitor on the rubbish pile.
