The only thing I dont get about this is why isnt the CMOS state saved on Non-volitile memory like SD etc?
Sure when the First machines where made available this might not have been practical or even possible but It just seems silly these days, especially given how cheap 1mb of SD must be.

y'know, that's a good point... never thought about it before, but it would make sense. Maybe it's just that nobody else has thought of it yet.... I reckon you should patent the idea - and then contact all the mobo manufacturers :D
