Sounds similar to Netmeter but Netmeter is free, not a trial.

Hi Ian

I've just tried netmeter following your post.

Networx actually does a lot more, and will give you up and down traffic totals on daily / weekly / monthly basis not just display current bitrates. I used it at home when my son got a web cam, to see how much traffic he was was generating. The 30 day trial was enough to establish typical traffic levels.

That's because it starts on the 8th.

But not everyone will be upgraded that exact day.

Can anyone gve me any idea wether I would be going over if I do the following online:

I'm developing a data usage estimator/calculator at http://ben.cheetham.me.uk/data-usage-calculator

It's not quite finished but it should help you to get some idea of what you're using.

Ah, but if I waited 'til the 8th, I might miss the chance to be the first to complain.;)

Hmm.

The previous announcement listed the 2MB cap as 30GB/Month. This annoucement lists it as 1GB/Day.

Not exactly the same thing. So which is it?

It appears to be the same as it is now, a gig a day.

This (daily or monthly) will only become an issue if and when they bring in hard caps - but all that is for the 'cap' thread. Let's not have another one!

For anybody that needs an up and down bandwidth monitor that logs to a file that shows daily, monthly and yearly totals and also tells you a lot of PC information I can recommend C S Fire Monitor. It is free for home use.
I can supply a link for it or just do a Google search for Crofts Software.
Over the last 7 days my download has been 3.873GB and upload 350.602MB.

I am only supplying this information for anybody that needs a monitor.
As has been said, this thread is for increased speed and not cap.
I for one am over the moon that I will be getting a 2MB connection and I have no real problem about my usage pattern.
