I've got to be up at 3.30 tomorrow for a flight to Paris...aw hell who needs sleep :-)
Sounds like your boot manager isnt pointing to the correct location on your HD, compare your partition table to your boot config and make sure it isnt doing something silly like booting into the swap space. Not knowing your boot manager, I cant tell you exactly where it is, but shouldn't be too difficult to find. You can use your install disks as rescue CD's, although personally I prefer Knoppix. The other option is to join one of the newbie mailing lists. There you can be sure of someone running into a similar problem and how they resolved it. Best, and Au Revoir :-) Ben |
It gets past the boot loader fine, then starts to do its check list but gets to loading file system and stops about 22.1%
I'm really confused now. |

or is it a gateway machine or other PC manafacturer with their OWN BIOS?
This has been known to make it hang at several points as they build their BIOS's around windoze dependancies :( §talk |
