I'm Nvidia through and through, but ATI's technology should be kicking Nvidias ass and it isnt.
It has to be poor drivers, theres no other explanation.
However Nvidia make very powerfull budget cards and thats why i love them so much.

I want a price as close to £300 as possible but at the back of my mind is the mantra: 'you get what you pay for':(

the way i see it prices are dropping like a stone all the time , i reckon in 6 months time you will be able to get 512mb ram on a graphics card for the same price you pay now for 256mb

You can always consider the 'law of diminishing returns'

Yes, but buying a cutting edge GPU is always like that. The trick is to get the balance just right:D

Very nice card - its the daddy of all cards at the moment i mite geth the fx 5600 256mb bit cheaper lol!

and the ati 9800 pro 256mb isnt worth the dosh might aswell just get the 128mb one and www.tomshardware.com is a good place to read up about cards!

Exulus 24-08-2003 20:53

i have the geforce fx 5200 built into my new laptop, its pretty nice :D

Havent tried many games on it though but most stuff runs smooth, the chameleon demo works nicely, however some others run jerky (the fire demon demo or whatever).

I plan on getting 3dmark soon to test it out properly :) Does anyone know where i can get the old 2002/01 version of whatever it was? I cant seem to find any links :(
