NTL also loose money like this : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...722921003&rd=1

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ayphotohosting

well, PPV don't last long on them, only a £30/32 credit limit on the stbs. and the filters stop the boxes from refreshing the credit.

edit: oh yeah, and it's illegal! :D

If they were originally installed as part of an NTL package, NO they are not legal.

Am 14, youngest in my family, so my arguments are hardly heard.

EDIT: If NTL went bust, BT is all we can move back to, and that means ADSL :)

Re earlier posts - anyone know what happened to the 'real' billion (1,000,000,000,000)? These Yanks get everywhere.

What do you mean real billion? Americans are buying NTL?

NTL are a US company...

Re: How Much Debt Are NTL In?

...but some earlier posts quote the debt in billions of pounds. I just find it a bit annoying that we seem to have accepted the US definition of a billion. (yes I know - off topic!)

Not to worry.
If you ever get confused by the ridiculous currency conversion rate between US and UK currency, just use the following calculation:
$billion x 2 = £billio n

Expect more cuts

It's going to be interesting to see what happens when they run out of things to cut. At the moment the guys dealing with networks say cash is non existent for daily maintenance, head counts have been cut to a minimum through redundancy and natural wastage.

Things are already at a point where the company is having difficulty operating, what will happen when they have to make their next round of cuts to keep the figures looking like they are inproving.

Sorry to be an anoarak, but $billion (US billion) x 2 = £1,000, 000,000 = £0.001B illion(British billion).

I don't think many people would be too pleased if they went to the pub for a pint and were served a US pint!

Where I work the numerology of MM is regularly used 1Bn would not be put in a report, 1MM would be.

US Pints are can sized 16floz vs 20 fl oz in the UK. Hardly a factor of 1000 smaller!

I wish BT would go bust...........god that company make me fume, id rather gouge my eyes out with sticks instead of dealing with their extreme incompetance ever again.

I wouldnt get too excited about the upload speed.........especially when the download speed is generally much lower than advertised. Unless you upload a vast amount of files........it really makes little difference.
